Your ultimate AI sidekick is
here to Assist.
Poorly implemented AI distracts users, and may result in major decisions being made with inadequate perspective and oversight. Assist accelerates and informs decision-making while keeping the user in control. Leverage voice, video and data from across your agency for better, more accurate insights.

Help where and when you need it.
The public safety process is already complex. Randomly adding AI to everything, everywhere is not helpful. AI must not distract the user, bombard them with too many options or take precedence over the officer.
Leveraging our long history in human-centered design, Motorola Solutions has thoughtfully integrated Assist into our solutions at points where the process bogs down or mistakes can be made, helping the user be more efficient and effective.

Forget trying to
remember everything
As a call progresses, 9-1-1 telecommunicators automatically see real-time AI call transcription and translation with key information highlighted - reducing cognitive load and speeding response.

Protect your agency, your personnel and the public
Redaction is critical for transparency. It’s also the most time-consuming evidence management activity. Simply identify the individual, object or audio stream for quick, painless AI-enabled redaction.

Build your narrative from multiple data sources
Leverage your radio traffic transcription, in-car and body camera content, and other data sources to build your narrative draft. Select multiple sources to get a well-rounded view of the incident.

Find vehicles even without
a license plate
With vehicle intelligence, investigators simply describe the vehicle of interest - including damage, distinguishing features or surroundings - and images of matching vehicles are surfaced.

The user is in the driver’s seat.
AI excels at sifting through vast amounts of data to absorb details, find patterns or inconsistencies and reach conclusions. For public safety and enterprise security personnel, this power needs to be applied carefully, because the outcomes have real impacts on your community.
Assist accelerates routine activities to minimize busywork, and provides suggestions and insights to help the user make the consequential decisions.

AI finds the location options -
you make the call
During a 9-1-1 call, the telecommunicator is shown a list of potential caller locations based on all available data. The ultimate location decision is up to the user, based on their experience.

Simple creation of self-dispatched incidents
An officer self-dispatches after spotting a damaged vehicle by the roadside. An incident based on transcribed radio traffic is prepared, but not created in the system until the dispatcher confirms.

Quickly mask the video elements of your choice
Evidence technicians choose to redact any combination of faces, people, vehicles, license plates, documents and screens - as well as sensitive audio content - while satisfying agency FOIA requests.

Want a head start on writing
your report?
Your recorded narrative in the field is reviewed for content that applies to the incident report fields. It’s your choice to autofill those fields in the report, or complete them yourself.

More data, better insights.
Context is everything. An officer dispatched to a disturbance approaches with a certain readiness. It’s likely that their agency has data in other systems that could help that officer be better prepared… but if the AI is not looking for that data, the context is lost.
With Motorola Solutions products spanning public safety and enterprise security, Assist draws from voice, video and data sources across multiple technologies. Use shared intelligence to spot inconsistencies and provide richer insights.

See your activity with the
incident timeline
As the officer creates their incident report, a comprehensive timeline with integrated links to all of the voice, video and data sources helps officers submit an accurate report the first time.

Gain context with simplified license plate searches
Within the automatic transcription of radio traffic between dispatchers and patrol, license plate details generate a link to run a plate check for a better understanding of the situation and risk.

Review your narrative with all the incident data
Verification of the officer narrative analyzes body and in-car video; the audio of the 9-1-1 call; sensor data; and photos and interviews from the scene for a 360 degree view of the incident.

A vehicle is more than just
a license plate
AI recognizes a vehicle’s make, model, color, direction, surroundings and even characteristics like damage and accessories. It’s a smarter way to find vehicles of interest - without a license plate.
Learn moreJust ask ViQi
Assist, our interactive public safety AI, provides help where and when you need it. For personnel in the field, that is often "away from my vehicle" and "in the middle of an incident". When typing is not an option, just ask ViQi®. ViQi can help with radio adjustments, database checks, on-scene translation, location information and much more. She is here to Assist.
“ViQi, tag this video as speeding.”
Using the new SVX video remote speaker microphone to capture incident video? Just press the ViQi button on the RSM and ask her to tag the video with the appropriate incident type. Once uploaded, the related retention period is automatically applied.
“ViQi, look up Texas plate Victor Alpha Kilo 117.”
Calling Dispatch for database checks adds to their workload. Going back to your vehicle to check yourself is distracting and adds to the duration of the incident. ViQi can help. Just give her the license plate, VIN or driver’s license information and she will look it up for you.
“ViQi, where am I?”
Occasionally, you may find yourself in unfamiliar surroundings. Apprehending a suspect after a long foot pursuit. Covering a new beat on the other side of the city. If you look around and realize you don’t know where you are, don’t worry. ViQi knows. Just ask her.
“ViQi, change zone to LOCAL, channel to TAC ONE.”
APX radios are known for their human-centered design, including knob designs that help users find, identify and adjust radio settings without taking their eyes off the situation. Now it’s even easier - just key up and ask ViQi to make the necessary changes.
Having all the locations in one place, now all the call taker has to do is click which is the correct location. You’re not having to look for everything. It’s all right there. This is a huge win for call takers.
JC Meyer, ENP
Manager, Network and Security, Lee County (FL)
It helps them decide what to pay attention to or even which call to listen to. A quick glance and they can see which calls are emergency, and whether a call involves a knife, a gun, or is happening at a school.
Lt. Jennifer Reidy
Commander of the Communications Division and PSAP Director, Howard County Police Dept. (MD)
It allows them to focus more on interacting with 9-1-1 callers and coordinating responses rather than having to manually enter information.

I’m learning that people are recognizing how intuitive the technology is – the transcription, the cameras, the drones and how they work together to help us respond more quickly.
