Frequently Asked Questions

1. I am a Motorola Solutions customer. What do I need to do to obtain an API license for my own internal development?

End user customers requiring access to Motorola Solutions application programming interfaces for internal development or maintenance purposes may submit their request here. Please fill out the brief form answering questions about your organization, intended development and the interfaces you require from Motorola Solutions. Questions that may be irrelevant or not applicable due to the nature of the development  may be filled in with “N/A”

2. What does an API license grant me?

An application programming interface license agreement is a contractual agreement between the two parties that defines how Motorola Solutions  interfaces, development tools and intellectual property  may be used and protected by the customer. Depending on the technology in question and exact  need, Motorola Solutions will allow you to either evaluate the kit or create a solution  using the licensed interfaces.

3. How will I receive access to the interfaces and tools I have been licensed?

After licensing is complete, users at licensed companies will have a dedicated dashboard that gives them access to Motorola Solutions’ asset distribution system and support system powered by GitLab. Here, you will find the development tools and API support you need to create your solution(s).

4. My standard license request has not been approved yet. What could the reason for this be?

API license requests must be submitted online to Motorola Solutions ADP Team. Applicants need to fill out a form and provide detailed information about their intended development to Motorola Solutions.
